Rushes Log

This document records every single clip I have taken in all the shoots. Once all of them are imported into my documents, I have to write a list of them in detail, for instance the name of the clip, how long it is and what the clip is. There is also a comment box where I have specifically written what the clip may need if it is used for my music video, but  I haven't put an comment for few videos because there may be nothing to change or adjust.
Furthermore, the document is a great way to document every clips rather than going back to clips and watching them.
In the document, the boxes that are highlighted in green are the video I have used in my final music video draft.

Draft 3 of Ancillary task 1 - Digipak

I have also changed my digipak so ensure there is a constant theme. Similar to the first ancillary task, i followed the colour scheme and the same image of the red lips.

Draft 3 of Ancillary Task 2 - Magazine Advert

Here is my third draft of my first ancillary task. Comparing to my previous draft, many changes were made from colours to images. I was struggling to find an image which would fit in the theme of dance music, so instead I thought to put an image something which connotes the words 'Little Red' and the first thing in mind is red lips or love.

Moodboard at existing digipak's

This is a small collection of images of existing digipaks which i believe fits the theme of my music video, furthermore all of them are female music artist which corresponds with my own digipak, as my own music video heavily focuses on two women. Looking at most digipaks above, the female artist are shown to be sexualised e.g. Rihanna with her red lips and heavy make up, and Beyonce in the '4' album cover, she is semi-naked which follows Laura Mulvey's theory of the male gaze.

Time Remapping - Production Log #16

5th February 2015
In today’s media lesson, I learned a new effect on Premier which I can use for my music video. I believe this effect will be very effective on the ballet scenes because there are some parts of the song which doesn’t clearly sync in with the performance, however with time remapping, I can adjust speed of certain parts of the clip. For instance; I took a clip of the performance pivoting, I dragged the clip out of the ‘final’ layer and moved it to a new layer. After there was a small drop down triangle which had three options come up when I clicked on it – ‘opacity, ‘speed’ and ‘Time Remapping’. I selected the time remapping option. Then I could adjust the speed and motion of any part of the clip by moving the yellow line which appears across the clip preview on the timeline. If I move the yellow line down, the clip slows down. Whereas if the yellow line was moved, the clips speeds up. I could select certain frames of the clip and make part of the clip slow and then speed up at another frame.
Many scenes in my music video, especially in the ballet performance towards the end, time remapping has been used

Call Sheets

I have created a call sheet for the two shoots I have filmed. The call sheet has got details about the shoot - Where, When and Who is required to be there on the shoot. Addition information is also included such as details of the shoot and special requirements needed when filming.

Final Looks for Actor (Artist Styling)

The outfits and looks I achieved for my filming were similar to what I had planned out. There were three outfits for my actor. For the indoor shoot, I thought that if black clothing was worn, the actor would not stand out from the background, so I decided that bold colours need to be worn to make her stand out in the black background. For the outdoor shoot, I chose suitable clothing that were comfortable for her while performning. I also had to take in consideration with the weather conditions, as it is my responsibility of looking after the actor while filming outdoor. The outdoor outfit consists of purple velvet disco pants and a black open shoulders top, a coat was also included.
Her make up was very natural looking. She wore mascara, brown smokey eyes and red lipstick. The look was very urban and made her stand out in the footage. Her hair styling was also simple, as I wanted to achieve a casual look, I thought having her hair down would be perfect.

Analysis of Lyrics

This task helps me to understand the song I have chosen for my music video. If I was going for a narrative music video, the theme of the video would be based on a heartbreak. I will follow the lyrics breifly in order for it to match with clips and the ballet dance.
